A sea chart of the Balaeric Islands in the western Mediterranean by Bellin, dated 1740, but published closer to 1750. Jacques Bellin was commissioned by the French government to carry out surveys of all the known coasts of the world, which resulted in a very large number of charts. These were issued as parts of atlases, and individually. Bellin was a member of the Royal Society in London.
